Charles Tillapaugh It has been my pleasure to
serve as the pastor of Wright's Chapel for the past 16
years. Originally from a small town in the foothills of
the Catskill Mountains of New York I came to Virginia in 1987 to
serve as a missionary to an inner city community in Richmond
through the United Methodist Church. After the completion
of my term of service I entered Union Theological Seminary in
Richmond and upon graduation in 1992 was appointed to serve as
pastor of Wright's Chapel United Methodist Church. My wife
Amy and I have loved our time here in this community and we both
now call it home. We have raised up our two children,
Lydia and Sophia, 5 and 11 years old and feel blessed to have
been surrounded by such a supportive church family. My
role as pastor has changed some over the years as the church has
grown from a small congregation of 25-30, to worshipping now on
a Sunday morning with over 250 people. The thing I still
love the most about being a pastor though is the chance to be
involved with people and their lives as we all seek to grow in
our life of faith in Jesus Christ. I count it a blessing
the many friends I have made as we have prayed together, laughed
together and even cried together as we have walked the roads
that life has placed before us. My spare time is usually
spent with my children and in summer you often find us at my
in-laws in Lake Caroline swimming in the lake.
